If  you’re aged 50 and older and living in a “hot spot” postal code area you can now book a COVID-19 vaccination appointment.

The Windsor Essex County Health Unit announced the new age bracket during their daily briefing on Thursday morning.

Previously the Health Unit’s mass vaccination clinics were only available to those aged 60 and older, and are still available to those aged 60 and older in non-hot spot postal code areas.

The Health Unit says if you are or will be 50 or older in 2021 you must live in one of seven postal code forward sorting areas to register: N8X, N8Y, N9A, N9B, N9C, N8H, or N9Y.

Health Unit CEO Theresa Marentette says you will be required to provide proof of residence at your appointment such as a driver’s licence that has your address, a current utility bill, or another current bill with your address.

The Health Unit says those that provide false information will be turned away.

Visit WEVax.ca for more information and the Health Unit’s booking site to book an appointment. You can also call 226-773-2200.
