Windsor Essex CHC is proud to announce we will be building Ontario’s largest “passive house” complex at 3100 Meadowbrook Lane. It is a $39 million eco-friendly building offering affordable housing in Windsor. We have partnered with Hiatus House Windsor to provide a refuge for people fleeing domestic violence and Community Living Windsor to provide accessible housing.
Thank you for your interest and enthusiasm for our new project.
Rental applications will be available in late Spring 2020.
We look forward to sharing the progress of the build and helping to answer the call in our community to increase the supply of affordable housing.
“Four years ago, CHC embarked on an innovative 15-year regeneration plan. Today, with financial commitments from the Government of Canada and the City of Windsor, agencies and service providers, we are fulfilling our goals to not only increase supply, but we will create strong sustainable communities. We will build and maintain high-quality real estate assets, and we will partner and collaborate with agencies who can help us meet specific community demands”.
Jim Steele, Chief Executive Officer, Windsor Essex Community Housing Corporation
“This is a great project not just because it houses so many people, but the way it houses them and how it combines the different communities. Women escaping violence, people with intellectual disabilities, and families looking for good, safe, secure housing. It builds a neighbourhood, not just a house,”
Toronto MP Adam Vaughan, parliamentary secretary to the Minister of Families, Children and Social Development (Housing and Urban Affairs).
