On September 1, 2022, CHC hosted a back-to-school party with the kids in Glengarry. We partnered with Feeding Windsor, Family Navigator, New Beginnings, Family Services, DWCC, UHC, and Windsor Prayer Outreach INC.
Our partners and volunteers made this event a success; we could not have done it without them. We had a total of 16 volunteers help yesterday.
Thank you to everyone who made the time to help. The kids enjoyed face painting, colouring contests and friendship bracelet making. UHC provided a variety of back-to-school snacks for the families next week. Windsor Prayer Outreach INC. also provided school supplies to the kids.
Food insecurity is a major challenge for our residents. We have been working with Feeding Windsor to bring food programs to our areas. Rodger and his team have been a pleasure to work with and outdid themselves again by providing over 100 hotdogs, buns, and chips.
The Feeding Windsor team not only supplies the food but comes prepared with condiments, spoons, containers, ice cream and extra goodies. Feeding Windsor provides more than food but also works to create a community for the people it serves.
Anyone who has worked with them knows they are truly an asset to our CHC communities.
